Statement of Beliefs for Volunteers

As a Christian humanitarian organization, we feel it is important to protect the beliefs that form the core identity of the Lighthouse Mission. In this spirit, we require all our volunteers to refrain from engaging in any activity or promoting any beliefs with our patrons and other volunteers that contradicts our Statement of Beliefs. When someone acts on our behalf as a volunteer, we must be confident that he/she accepts and works within the foundational beliefs on which this ministry is built.

I understand at any time I may be asked to step down from my volunteer position and leave the Lighthouse Mission without reason.

I understand that for the safety of other volunteers & guests of the Lighthouse Mission; volunteers must not be under influence or have used mood-altering drugs that have not been prescribed by a doctor within the last 48hrs, and have not consumed alcohol within the last 12 hours.

I understand and agree that submitting this application form does not automatically register me as a Lighthouse Mission volunteer, and that there may be certain qualifications I must meet, including a volunteer interview and the acceptance of established volunteer policies and procedures before I may begin volunteering.

I understand that a volunteer schedule is in place at the Lighthouse Mission and I must have a pre-approved scheduled time slot to volunteer. I understand I may be asked to leave if I show up at other times to volunteer, and will do so in a respectfully.

I understand that the Lighthouse Mission works in close conjunction with programs that are focused on helping people overcome drug and alcohol addictions. Furthermore, I am aware that I may be working alongside people who have or are participating in a program, who are working towards substance-free living. Therefore, I agree that I will not bring any illicit or controlled drug or substance, including alcohol, into the Lighthouse Mission building at any time and will promote a healthy and clean lifestyle to those around me at all times. I promise that if I smoke cigarettes, I will not smoke on the property of the Lighthouse Mission.

By submitting this form, I attest and hereby declare that the information I have provided is true and accurate and agree to respect and abide by Lighthouse Mission's Oath of Confidentiality, uphold and honour the Lighthouse Mission's Statement of Beliefs, abide by the Lighthouse Mission's volunteer policies and safety parameters which is set in place for the wellbeing of all volunteers, patrons, students and staff.
